Regional Director of Sales (Remote)

KAJ Hospitality is growing and adding a Regional Director of Sales to our roster of great leaders.

This position functions as the strategic sales leader for the entire portfolio sales team. The position will be based out of South Dakota, North Dakota or Minnesota (there will be more travel if you are not located in one of those states). They will work with direct reports (Directors of Sales and Sales Managers) across the portfolio to develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue in all segments. The position ensures our sales strategy is one step ahead of our competition and that all sales team members are contributing to overall success of our organization within our markets.

  • The Regional Director of Sales will be the main point of contact for sales leaders across the organization. What are the other responsibilities of the Regional Director of Sales?

  • Cover Director of Sales or Sales Manager duties for hotel(s) in absence of permanent DOS or Sales Manager.
  • Recruit, onboard and train new sales hires.
  • Provide extra sales support to hotels not meeting revenue goals.
  • Promote cross-selling of KAJ hotels in area/region and lead sharing between KAJ portfolio Directors of Sales.
  • Promote and participate in brand weeks of sales celebrations and initiatives for maximum participation at KAJ hotels.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate accounts, business travel and industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Lead Directors of Sales through key corporate account RFP season for maximum exposure.
  • Assist hotels with updating catering and event menu offerings as needed. Minimum of once annually.
  • Update and maintain sales core processes for team to follow.
  • Ensure sales team members are following revenue management principles to continually grow RevPAR.
  • Administer quarterly test shop call program and follow up with sales team members after shop concludes.
  • Monitor sales tracking system (CRM) usage and accuracy from all sales team members for optimal sales activity tracking and reporting.
  • Identify and address any performance issues within the sales team.
  • Create career development plans with sales team members.
