What You’ll Do

As part of our KAJ Sales and Management Team, you’ll help us achieve and exceed our revenue goals by selling a memorable experience in all market segments of the hotel. 

Sales Responsibilities: 
  • Be first point of contact for all incoming group inquiries. Take all group information and relay to General Manager for analysis. Assist General Manager in follow up with groups to solidify bookings.
  • Build and manage group blocks in OnQ R&I and OnQ PM.
  • Be engaging and relationship driven in day-to-day encounters with customers including mingling with guests during check in, check out and at breakfast to uncover further sales leads and maintain relationships with current accounts and VIP guests.
  • Continually create a memorable experience for guests by delivering “Here for People” Service.
  • Manage the Extended Stay Touch Program. Track arrivals and key dates for in house extended stay guests to provide the required messaging and gifts. Be prepared to share this tracking with General Manager weekly.
  • Assist General Manager with prospecting when requested. Maintain a knowledge of market events and news regarding competition, local businesses and customers to aid in the prospecting effort.
  • Prepare for sales calls and blitzes by putting together collateral and sales gifts.
  • Join General Manager on sales calls and sales blitzes as requested.
  • Join General Manager for community and networking events or attend by self on behalf of the hotel and KAJ.
  • Conduct parking lot drives and take down company information and phone numbers from cars staying at competing hotels.
  • Conduct site tours for prospective clients and guests.
  • Receive group leads from all sources (Meetingbroker, Hotelplanner, CVB, etc,) summarize group needs and work with General Manager to determine pricing and availability. Respond to all group leads as soon as possible, within 4 hours.
  • Keep OnQ Solicitation Management information up-to-date, including blackout dates. Receive corporate RFP requests from Hilton, summarize account requests and work with General Manager to determine pricing and answers to custom questions. Respond to all corporate RFP requests prior to deadline provided.
  • Enter Hilton corporate business cases (CARP) in system once prepared by General Manager.
  • Work with front desk to complete lead sheets for potential groups and LNRs.
  • Keep up-to-date LNR/CNR list posted at the front desk as it is updated by Revenue Manager.
  • Update Market Sales Calendar with special events taking place.
  • Create quarterly goals (Rocks) during quarterly meeting with Home2 leadership team.
  • Attend bi-weekly revenue calls to maintain knowledge of how hotel is performing and future forecast.
  • Maintain sales collateral and sales folders.
  • Keep record of daily tasks completed and turn into General Manager.
  • Enter all sales activities and bookings in Amadeus, including for General Manager. Run and send weekly reports between 3pm-5pm every Friday.
  • Maintain successful working relationship with GM for greater good of hotel revenue.
  • Any other duties directed by General Manager.
 
Operations Responsibilities
  • Assist with coverage of front desk shifts as needed, including 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, night audit, holidays and weekends.
  • Ensure front desk is aware of all active groups and their special needs.
  • Provide support and inclusion and work cohesively with all members of the Leadership Team as well as entire hotel team.
  • Assist with coverage in breakfast and housekeeping as needed.
  • Any other duties directed by General Manager.
 
Sales Expectations: 
  • Expected to be available when business demands it and be on call as needed by GM.
  • Plan and use time wisely with high levels of production.
  • Assist with Site Tours and Maintenance touch points.
  • Responsible for keeping records of guest room blocks.
  • Ensure prompt response (within 4 hours) to all inquiries and customer requests.
